John Ternent

Vice President, Engineering
 
As VP of Engineering, John is responsible for the overall development and quality of the Pentaho product line. John's experience in BI goes back to his early days at a Big 6 consulting firm, where he helped build management reporting systems based around the activity-based costing and Balanced Scorecard approaches. Prior to joining Pentaho, he worked as an applications architect for companies in the retail and vacation ownership industries. A long-time open source advocate, John has been involved in the evaluation and deployment of open source databases, web and application servers, programming languages, frameworks, content management systems, and telephony systems.

John holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Western Kentucky University and an M.B.A. from the University of Illinois.
