Rod Squires

Executive Vice President Worldwide Field Operations, Sales and Services

Rod is responsible for the leadership of worldwide field operations including sales and services. He joined Pentaho in 2011 helping drive 12x growth through the successful acquisition by Hitachi. Rod brings more than 25 years of experience managing all aspects of worldwide sales and operations in emerging and established companies. Throughout his career, Rod has proven a high degree of success quickly ramping prosperous software companies. Prior to Pentaho, Rod held senior leadership positions at Savvion, Inc, (acquired by Progress Software), Vitria Technology, Parametric Technology and Xerox Corporation.

Donna Prlich

Chief Product Officer

As Chief Product Officer at Pentaho, Donna plays a key role in shaping the roadmap priorities and product messaging across the organization.

Since joining Pentaho in 2012 as the director of product marketing, Donna has worked to strategically collaborate across departments to transform the Pentaho platform into what it is today. This past year as SVP, Donna led the product management team through one of the most exciting and innovative times for Pentaho, while continuing to lead the product marketing team, as well as a newly created solutions team.

Donna has nearly two decades of experience in the enterprise technology space where ultimately, she’s worked to bring products into the market that simplify the workloads and save time/resources of IT professionals in various industries. Prior to Pentaho, Donna started out as a Market Segment Manager at Sun Microsystems across database, data warehousing, and business intelligence parts of the business. This exposure enabled her to advance quickly within the organization and contribute her talents in big data and business intelligence partner and solutions marketing to vendors such as Actuate. Donna holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from the University of California at Berkeley.

Bob Kemper

Executive Vice President Engineering

Bob is a world-class software development executive with an extensive background in Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Predictive Analytics, Big Data Analytics and Cloud based Analytical Applications. His responsibility is to lead Pentaho’s outstanding engineering team to build products that deliver Pentaho’s mission of "building the future of analytics." Prior to Pentaho, Bob was the SVP of engineering at Pivotlink. He has also held senior positions at PrecisionPoint Software,SPSS, Inc. and Hyperion, where he successfully built out large engineering teams across the globe.

Pedro Alves

Senior Vice President, Community

Pedro joined the team as Senior VP, Community in April 2013 following Pentaho's acquisition of his company, Webdetails. Pedro also serves as the General Manager for Webdetails, which continues to operate under its original brand as a Pentaho company. Since 2008 Pedro and his team at Webdetails have been designing high-end custom interfaces for many Pentaho clients in Europe and North America including Mozilla, Stonegate Senior Living and St Antonius Hospital. His team also builds and maintains plug-ins for Pentaho, most notably the extremely popular Community Tools or “CTools” series for creating and managing dashboards and reports. Pedro has extensive experience as a B2B systems integrator through his previous roles at Tekever and Think, where he specialized in electronic invoice and healthcare management software.

Bo Borland

Bo Borland

Senior Vice President of Sales Engineering and Enablement

As vice president of field technical sales at Pentaho, Bo is responsible for the worldwide sales engineering team for the company. He has a passion for building strong teams and helping companies improve performance with data analytics. Bo joined Pentaho five years ago as a technology evangelist bringing emerging big data and analytic technologies to market. His responsibilities include recruiting, developing, leading, and coaching a worldwide pre-sales team to succeed in the enterprise software marketplace. 

Bo has nearly 20 years of professional analytics experience, which began as a senior consultant at Deloitte, and was followed by over six years at IBM.  From there, Bo used his determination and passion for the industry to found his own successful analytics consulting company, Management Signals, which ultimately merged with Pentaho. 

Bo is the author of Pentaho Analytics for MongoDB published by Packt in 2014. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from the University of Mississippi and an MBA from the University of Georgia.

Anthony De Shazor

Senior Vice President of Customer Care and Principal Architect

Anthony is responsible for Customer Care at Pentaho, including the Technical Support team, the Enterprise Architecture Group focused on providing the highest level of care and ongoing guidance to strategic customers, Development Services, and the Hitachi Care Team that develops and supports Hitachi-Pentaho solutions. In addition to these responsibilities, Anthony works closely with Product Management, Product Design and Engineering, ensuring that the “Voice of the Customer” has been heard. Anthony’s role as the “Voice of the Customer” is a perfect fit developed through his tenure at Pentaho and extensive experience in front of Pentaho customers, specifically our enterprise and embedded customers.  His perspective and nearly 20 years of experience in BI and analytics affords him the unique ability to understand precisely what issues customers are experiencing and allows him to recommend changes to the Pentaho products. He has served for over 10 years at Pentaho in leadership positions within engineering, training, consulting, and support. Prior to joining Pentaho, he has held various roles in product development and services at Lockheed Martin, IBM, Hyperion (acquired by Oracle), and Lawson Software (acquired by Infor).

Marc Batchelor

Founder and Chief Engineer

Marc has been in the BI industry since the early 1990's when he was building EIS (Executive Information System) applications for companies such as Florida Power and Light, Martin Marietta, Westing House, VF Corporation, The Bailey Company, and AT&T. Also a Co-Founder of AppSource Corporation (acquired by Arbor Software which later merged into Hyperion Solutions) and Keyola (acquired by Lawson Software).

Matt Casters

Chief Architect, PDI/Kettle Project Founder

Matt Casters is founder and primary sponsor of the Kettle project and is responsible for leading the architecture and delivery of Pentaho's Data Integration solutions. Matt has more than 12 years experience in data warehousing and business intelligence. His background as a Unix support professional, a programmer, and a database consultant, combined with the business knowledge he gained from leading BI implementations lead him to the create the Kettle (now Pentaho Data Integration) software platform.

Mark Hall

Senior Data Mining Consultant / Engineer

Mark Hall is one of the original core developers of the Weka data mining software and is responsible for leading Pentaho's data mining solutions. He has 15 years experience as an academic researcher in computer science and has published extensively in machine learning and data mining conferences and journals. Prior to joining Pentaho, Mark held teaching and postdoctoral fellowship positions at the University of Waikato in New Zealand.

Wael Elrifai

Director for Enterprise Solutions, EMEA

Wael Elrifai is an avid technologist and management strategist, bridging the divide between IT and business as Pentaho's EMEA Director of Enterprise Solutions. He's been working in high performance computing, machine learning, the broader artificial intelligence field and the "Big Data" ecosystem for the past decade. Wael has served corporate and government clients in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and East Asia across a number of industry verticals and has presented at conferences worldwide.

With graduate degrees in both electrical engineering and economics he’s a member of the Association for Computing Machinery, the Special Interest Group for Artificial Intelligence, the Royal Economic Society, and Chatham House.
