ZipRealty – Last year, Pentaho announced that ZipRealty deployed Pentaho Data Integration as part of a MySQL-based data warehouse that integrates information from disparate systems to provide visibility into agent performance, customer service, and marketing effectiveness. The company had such success with Pentaho that it has since expanded its use of Pentaho, now support additional business intelligence initiatives with Pentaho BI Suite Enterprise Edition.

Mozilla – In July, Pentaho announced that Mozilla Corporation had deployed Pentaho BI Suite Enterprise Edition and Vertica Analytic Database to integrate and analyze large volumes of log file information in a data warehouse and business intelligence system. Pentaho Data Integration provided an easy-to-use extract, transform, and load (ETL) front end for administrators to use to define and maintain data integration rules as well as a powerful metadata-driven integration engine capable of addressing large integration jobs.

Delta Dental of Virginia – In June, Pentaho announced that Delta Dental of Virginia deployed Pentaho BI Suite Enterprise Edition for reporting and ETL to support the next phase of the organization's phenomenal growth. Delta Dental recognized it could achieve its business goals more quickly while reducing costs by using Pentaho BI Suite Enterprise Edition with subscription services. The organization obtained business benefits from Pentaho during Phase 1 of its project within only four months.

Zack Urlocker Joins Pentaho Board – In July, Pentaho announced it had expanded its highly experienced team with the addition of Zack Urlocker, vice president of products in Sun's database group and previous EVP of products for MySQL AB, to the Pentaho board of directors, which also includes Larry Augustin, founder of VA Linux and one of the people credited with creating the term "open source." The Pentaho board also includes representatives from Benchmark Capital, Index Ventures, and New Enterprise Associates, which together have invested in and helped establish leading open source companies such as JBoss, MySQL, Red Hat, Sourcefire, SugarCRM, Trolltech, Xensource, Zend, and Zimbra.

Pentaho for iPhone, another technology first in BI – In July, Pentaho announced the availability of a new Pentaho iPhone application that provides native iPhone web navigation of Pentaho BI content. The iPhone provides a powerful, portable platform for personal and business use, and the Pentaho iPhone application, developed using the iUI project provides an easy and intuitive way for business users to access and navigate BI information.
