Sr Web Producer

Summary
Pentaho is looking for a Senior Web Producer to manage and own the strategic direction of our web properties. This includes Pentaho.com and two translated versions, big data analytics center and miscellaneous resource centers. In addition, this person will be helping to rebuild our current site – with a new look-and-feel, architecture and overall flow.
This is a rare opportunity with a fast growing business analytics and big data company. You will be working closely with a cross-functional team of marketing, creative, content and IT peers to manage the complete direction of our websites through innovation, implementing technical and lead generation best practices and staying up with current trends for website usability, functionality and look-and-feel.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Works with cross-functional teams to conceive, design, develop and launch the new pentaho.com and the ongoing development for the website going forward
  • Manages the ongoing strategic direction of Pentaho’s web presence including user interaction among the sites
  • Plans and implements site architecture including troubleshooting, testing and new feature implementation
  • Maintains ongoing designs of the website, promos and ad banners and lead generation forms and occasionally designing new page layouts, home page rotating panels, etc.
  • Proactively keeps the websites current by following industry trends and best practices, and by engaging the larger team for new content and ideas
  • Uses HTML and CSS/Drupal in order to build prototypes and final web pages
  • Monitors and analyzes web metrics in order to ensure site performance and effective search engine optimization strategies
  • Day-to-day production maintenance

Primary Responsibilities Required Experience:

  • Bachelors from 4 year college/university
  • 5+ years experience managing or developing web sites
  • 5+ years experience hand-coding semantically correct CSS and HTML
  • 4+ years experience in web development in a LAMP environment / architecture (Linux/Unix, Apache, MySQL, PHP) with PHP being the most frequent language used
  • 2+ years administering and developing in a Drupal-based environment
  • Experience working with PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, AJAX, JQuery, and DHTML
  • SQL Server Administration (i.e. creating tables, stored procedures, indexes, configuring user permissions, backup & restore operations)
  • Strong understanding of CSS and client slide JavaScript
  • Intermediate to advanced level of proficiency with web design tools such as Adobe’s Creative Suite
  • PMP or similar project management certificate/training
  • Strong understanding of SEO and social media best practices
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop and InDesign
  • Able to perform in a fast-paced agile environment
  • Experience creating, implementing and maintaining high-traffic web site is required

  • Familiarity with versioning management systems such as SVN and source control / deployment methodology
  • Comfortable working on non-english websites (code is in English and content is already translated)
  • Understanding of object oriented concepts, design patterns, and various open source toolkits and frameworks would make you a strong candidate
